Further information About Counselling
Counselling is using interpersonal skills learned through an accredited course in a way that seeks to develop self-awareness, effective coping skills and the enhancement of human relationships. Fundamental to the ‘person centred’ approach is a respect for individual differences and the individual’s capacity to make his/her own meaning from experiences. The counselling relationship is an equal one in that each has his/her own life skills and experiences and each deserves respect from the other. Counselling normally lasts for one hour, on an agreed time scale between counsellor and client. Through counselling you can learn how to cope more effectively with stress, anxiety, depression and relationship problems.
