Marta Bannister Counselling

Therapeutic Counsellor

Helping you find your way to feeling happier, more confident and looking forward to life.

My passion for counselling began at a time when I personally needed therapy. I was offered a safe, confidential space where I could be fully myself - exploring my past, connecting with my emotions, and feeling truly heard and validated. This transformative experience inspired me to pursue my qualification and become a counsellor.

My personal journey as a neurodivergent individual has given me insight into the unique challenges that can come with late diagnosis and navigating the world differently. This understanding informs my commitment to creating a supportive, affirming space for others to explore their experiences.

Through my personal experiences and professional training, I aim to offer empathetic, tailored support to help you navigate your own unique journey.

How I work

I tailor my approach to you and your individual needs. The way I work is based on the following beliefs:

  • Creating a safe, trusting, and non-judgemental space in therapy, where clients feel they can really be themselves, is of great importance and value.
  • Our experiences from the past are often an unconscious driver of our actions in the presence.
  • Understanding the past brings on greater awareness, but change happens in the present.

My focus in the sessions is on you and what you want to gain from therapy. We will explore your issues together and work towards your desired outcomes. This might be done in a time-limited way or over a longer period of time, depending on your individual needs.

My Qualifications

I qualified in 2023 as Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor following 4 years of training:
